Design doesn't always start with a blank page; sometimes it starts in the recycling bin. When my daughter’s wall planner was headed for the trash, I saw one last opportunity to use its grid. I hand-cut the letters for a final 2025 headline "DONE" and photographed the planner in a rubbish skip to lean into the theme. It was about using a rigid organizational tool to create a custom, tactile message about the end of the year.
I also explored using a graphic background and simplifying the elements.
