In this series, the "brief" was found in the bin. I used single pieces of flattened packaging as my "grid," cutting out letters where the structural shape of the cardboard dictated the form. Every curve and notch in the type is a direct result of a package’s original die-cut or flap. By inking and hand-printing these shapes like letterpress blocks, I bridged the gap between mass production and traditional craft proving that even the most functional industrial shapes have a hidden typographic life.
